Discovery Education

I have been looking at Discover Education for a while now, wondering if it was worth the money.  I recently had the opportunity to try it out for a month and I’m convinced that if you have the money and your kids learn well from videos, it is definitely worth it.  Not only are there literally tens of thousands of videos and video clips, there are also images, podcasts, games, articles, math explanations, lesson plans and a host of other content.  It’s all searchable and comes complete with organization tools to help you pull it all together.  Most of these videos are not available elsewhere on the web.  Content covers all subjects and all grades.  There is also Discover Science, which is more focused on K-8 science content.  The best way to purchase Discovery Education is through the Homeschool Buyers Co-op.  The regular price is $375 for a one year license, good for your entire household.  Through the co-op, depending on the number of buyers, the prices ranges between $187 and $99.  They also have deals on Discovery Science.  If you’re looking for something a little more scaled-down, take a look at Cosmeo.
